LECTURE: Genesis 1-11 and the Ancient Near East

LECTURE: Genesis 1-11 and the Ancient Near East

A lecture given in August 2013 for the Nashville Reformed Students Association (primarily to undergraduate students). In this lecture, Bryan provides an introduction to the literary structure of the Hebrew Bible. Additionally, the origins of the literature are discussed in light of their similarities to other literature from the Ancient Near East. Finally, the problem this often causes for Christians and a possible solution are mentioned. As I suggest, biblical faith should not be contingent on the historicity of narrative events.
